Antique French Book, 1700's Les Caracteres de La Bruyere

Volume 2 of Les Caracteres, by Jean de La Bruyere, printed in 1756 in Amsterdam. This is a classic work of moral reflections and character. The book features a beautifully aged leather binding with gold tooling on the spine and a marbled endpaper. The title page has elegant typography with decorative elements. Note: Wear to the cover and foxing on the pages. Measures 5.75" x 3.5". Far from pristine, but it's authentic and rare!
